Class B autoclave: criteria and maintenance

What class B means, and how to maintain an autoclave such as the Newmed Kronos B18.

Class B

The EN 13060 standard classifies small steam sterilizers into types B, N and S. Type B is intended for the sterilization of all wrapped or unwrapped, solid, hollow and porous products, as represented by the test loads of the standard.

Example: Newmed Kronos B18

The Newmed Kronos B18 is a class B steam sterilizer with an 18-litre chamber.

Maintenance

Newmed provides maintenance kits according to the number of cycles: kit « 1NB » (1,000 and 3,000 cycles) and kit « 2NB » (2,000 cycles), available from AxeMed.
