Aldena's 2026 offer describes these protective medical masks as 3-ply, type IIR, with ear loops, in boxes of 50, available in blue, pink and black. What does "type IIR" mean?
It is the most demanding surgical mask class of standard EN 14683: high bacterial filtration efficiency and splash resistance. Measured values for this colour are available on request from AxeMed.
Does this mask replace an FFP2 mask?
No. A surgical mask mainly protects others from droplets emitted by the wearer; for respiratory protection of the wearer, choose an FFP2 mask (ref. FFP2-INTEXTRED).
