Dentatus Classic Surtex posts titanium – Long 11.8 mm, Ø 1.05 mm (#1) – 15 pcs
Dentatus Classic Surtex® posts are prefabricated root canal posts, a global standard since 1932, for retaining core materials in endodontically treated teeth. They are cemented passively, temporarily or permanently, in the canal prepared with the corresponding Dentatus reamers.
- Anatomical shape: about 2/3 cylindrical and 1/3 conical, for maximum retention and minimum fracture risk.
- Texturised Surtex® surface: up to 200% more mechanical retention than non-treated posts according to Dentatus (Nergiz et al., J Prosthet Dent 1997) and less light reflection.
- Square cross-cut head for core material adaptation; threads for secure retention with all cements.
- 6 diameters (Ø 1.05–1.80 mm) and 5 lengths (7.8–17 mm), sizes #1–6 matching the reamers.
- Manufactured and 100% quality-controlled in Sweden; single-use posts.
Procedure: prepare the canal with the reamer of the same number (Standard Classic RUA/RUB or Helix Classic), check the fit without rotating, cement while gently rotating clockwise with the Dentatus key; once the cement has set, the head can be widened with the NLK cross key for extra retention.
This item (TST-L1): refill of 15 Classic Surtex titanium posts – length: long, 11.8 mm; diameter 1.05 mm (size #1). Pure titanium posts are recommended by Dentatus for most retentive purposes; the manufacturer describes titanium as biologically highly compatible with surrounding tissue.

Frequently asked questions
Which reamer goes with a Surtex post?
The reamer whose number (number of grooves on the shank) matches the post: Standard Classic RUA (28 mm) / RUB (33 mm) #1–6, or Helix Classic RSA/RSB/RSC.
How is a Classic Surtex post cemented?
With temporary or permanent cement applied to the threaded part and the canal opening; insert the post with a Dentatus key, gently rotating clockwise until resistance is felt. Once set, the head can be widened with the cross key (except stainless steel).
Which material: titanium, stainless steel or gold plated?
According to Dentatus: pure titanium for most retentive purposes; stainless steel where extra-high shear strength is required (contains nickel); gold plated as an economical alternative, e.g. for temporary crowns.
