When placed buccally, the angulation prevents twisting of the retainer and thus its displacement by the tongue or cheek.
They are mirror images of each other and can be applied lingually or buccally to provide firm adaptation of the matrix band to the tooth.
Important: When using retainer MEC‐N1 or N2, the concave side of the matrix band must be on the side of the retainer with the short side of the slot
