Cattani in the Benelux: AxeMed, official distributor

01Who is Cattani?

• A manufacturer from Parma: the devices bear the statement “Manufactured by Cattani S.p.A. - Parma - Italy”; the head office is at Via Natta 6/A, 43122 Parma (Cattani Smart, Mono Jet and Maxi Smart manuals).
• An air specialist: “We have specialised in air technology for more than 50 years”, writes Cattani (Cattani compressors manual, ed. 02-2023, p. 20).
• A certified quality system: company with a quality management system certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 (same manual, p. 20; Aspi-Jet and Mono Jet manuals).
• A group: Magnolia, which manufactures the Puli-Jet hygiene products and the anti-foam tablets, is part of the Cattani group (Cattani/Magnolia leaflet, 06-2019). Cattani also has national companies, such as Cattani ESAM in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Cattani explains that it focuses its research on techniques that save raw materials and energy (Maxi Smart manual, ed. 04-2025, p. 6). The manufacturer claims to save 50 % of raw materials and to enable electricity consumption to be reduced by 30 to 50 % (Cattani statement printed on the back of its manuals); it presents the Turbo Smart as the first of its suction units designed with this approach, followed by a dozen others (Cattani Turbo Smart brochure).

03AxeMed's role as official distributor in the Benelux

AxeMed SRL, based in Huizingen (Beersel), south of Brussels, is Cattani's official distributor for Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. In practice:

• Stock in Belgium: Cattani equipment, parts and consumables are shipped from Beersel, by GLS, to Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and France.
• Genuine parts: the references sold are the manufacturer's, with their Cattani code.
• Manufacturer documentation: the shop's product pages reproduce Cattani data with their source cited, and we pass on manuals, instructions and maintenance posters.
• Technical training: AxeMed organises Cattani Technical Days for technicians.
• A dealer network: in addition to direct sales, AxeMed works with partner dealers in the Benelux ( Partner dealerspage).
• Projects: practices, hospitals and universities, with offers that comply with tender specifications ( Practices, Hospitals, Universitiespage).

04Why use the official channel

It is not a question of price, but of compliance and follow-up. Cattani puts it this way itself:

• For its suction units, which are class I medical devices, technicians must only use genuine Cattani spare parts, and any repair requires a new test according to IEC EN 62353 (Cattani Smart manual, ed. 04-2024, p. 9).
• Traced components, such as control panels, are ordered with the machine's serial number (same source).
• Extraordinary maintenance is entrusted to a trained technician with genuine parts (Cattani maintenance posters, 09/2023).
• Cattani's authorised dealers, agents, resellers and technicians provide advice, technical documentation and maintenance updates (Cattani compressors manual, p. 15).
• Cattani recommends regularly consulting its up-to-date manuals on cattani.it, in particular for safety (Cattani compressors manual, p. 12).

An official distributor guarantees access to these parts, these documents and the training that goes with them.

A project is prepared with the manufacturer

For a new installation, Cattani stresses three points: the pipework layout, a suitable plant room and the suction power. The manufacturer points out that the energy of the flow decreases along the pipes, that a proper layout design is necessary and that it can produce one for the practice; the plant room must be large enough for maintenance and cooled (Cattani technical documentation, 2022, p. 26 to 51). By going through AxeMed, these studies are carried out with Cattani's documentation and support.
